Treatment Fees & Insurance

Before any treatment of any major significance is initiated, patients/parents are provided with verbal and written firm fees.

Dr. Thompson bases all fees on the Nova Scotia Dental Association fee guide (copies of which are available either from the association or from our office).

We are very familiar with interfacing with dental insurance companies, attorneys and motor vehicle insurance companies. As a service to our patients, we are pleased to provide this service of communication at no charge. We are happy to arrange suitable payment plans and bill insurance companies directly where appropriate.

As a courtesy to our patients, we provide a fee reduction to members of the same family – please let us know if this is the case!

Payments can be made with all major forms of electronic transaction or post-dated cheques or credit card. Electronic fee pre-determination is available for rapid communication with insurance companies.

Formal credit company cards are accepted, and formal health care card arrangements are welcomed with us.

Please note: For several reasons, we are unable to accept direct payment from Workers Compensation Board, Indian Affairs and/or MSI. Patients are thus responsible for all fees incurred for services provided. We would, however, be happy to do what we can to expedite payment from these authorities directly to the patient/parent in these instances.

Our Efforts to Make Orthodontics Affordable:

- Our fees are within the limits as defined by the Nova Scotia Dental Association Fee Guide.
- No initial down payment is required and payment plans are available. Financing is also available through PatientLink.
- Professional fee will be reduced for second and subsequent family members.
- Where at all possible, we will bill third party insurance carriers.
- No-charge initial consultations available for Invisalign treatment.
- No referral necessary.
